Awesome blog, Tony..

Also, adding to Tony's thoughts..

I have had doctors' kids in my gym when they would not allow them to go into other gyms simply because of my stances on safety issues. So, letting them visit and talking to them upfront is huge. They respect safety standards, and like any parent, they want their kid to be as safe as possible.

..and, Tony, one of the things that I tell my kids when they are working through any injury and getting frustrated or worried that they are going to fall behind is that their healing time is PART OF their training. I remind them that healing injuries is part of any sport and that if they try too much too soon, they'll re-injure, but they can do things while they wait, as you suggested.

Training while injured…

Adding to Tony’s article…..

I am always amazed at how much stronger an injured athlete comes back when they train hard through an injury. Every athlete has “issues” so doing basics, drills and lots of conditioning can turn a weakness into a strength! Use your time wisely, even when it seems boring! I have just survived 2 months of “downtime” with injuries and we just got the clearance to start again, YEAH!
