Another trip to the ranch….

…Always full of education and challenges too! It was 103 degrees, oh my but we survived!
This month was full of finalizing skill selection for routines. Always making sure that the value of the skill is worth more than the potential deductions or the stress on the athlete. These are choices that need to be made with the athlete and the coach together with the information provided from “the judge”. It is always nice that there is a judge at the ranch to give the necessary information to make good judgement calls for routines. With the increase in deductions for landings on floor all of the coaches are realizing how important the proper position on take off is to have the potential to stick landings. Lots of stick drills for air awareness and proper shaping will be added to our training for this final phase of preparation. Overall it was a great camp and I am ready to get back in the gym and train, train, train!
